The operations of the German Township Volunteer Fire Department are overseen by a group of Township residents that serve as the Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors is similar to that of any other business.  The Board of Directors serves as the governing body that oversees all operations of the organization, which include the Fire Department itself, and the Auxiliary. The Board of Directors establishes the operational budget, reviews the performance of the Fire Chief, and manages the fiscal aspects of the department. 

There are 15 Board positions, and members serve for 3 years.  Members can choose to continue for another 3 years once their term is completed.
