Indiana DHS

Within Indiana, the State's Department of Homeland Security regulates many aspects of emergency response.
Responders need to register for a Public Safety ID before participating in training.  This ID is used to keep track of all of the various courses, and expirations for some certifications that require in-service hours.  To apply for a PSID use following link:

The National Incident Management System is an important part of the fire service.   Incident Command has started within the fire service, and has been expanded into the national emergency response community following several high profile disasters.   The Federal Emergency Management Agency has developed several online and classroom led programs to train responders on the various aspects of the NIMS system.  
Initially, responders used their social security number for the NIMS course registrations, but this has been replaced by a new Student ID system.  Responders need to use to following link to get their SID before starting the courses:
